For many, conflict within the workplace is seen to damage interpersonal relationships, organisational dynamics, is harmful, destructive, costly and stressful. However, having spent the past 30 years as a leader, a mediator, a trainer, a coach and a culture change consultant, my strong belief that often ‘conflict’ in our workplaces is not the issue but rather the manner in which it is managed. Often treated as a taboo, this leads to mismanagement, avoidance and a lack of understanding. Having personally been involved in mediating a vast array of quarrels, disputes and complaints, I’ve seen first-hand the transformative effect that reframing conflict can have on people, teams and organisations.
In an increasingly tumultuous and uncertain world, some degree of conflict in the workplace is inevitable. Mediation, I believe provides an opportunity for resolution and healthy dialogue. Our unique FAIR Mediation Model™
Our unique Fair Mediation Model™ works to address the root cause of the issue through a pragmatic, problem-solving approach. It’s really effective and has been used by some big names: Royal Mail, HSBC, Aviva, Network Rail, and The Metropolitan Police, alongside universities, hospitals, councils and pharmaceuticals.
