About Julie Plant

Julie began her career as a Learning Disabilities Nurse, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to lead independent and fulfilling lives. This experience ignited her passion for personal development, leading her to transition into Learning and Development. With extensive experience in workforce development, content design, and leadership training, Julie has spent years shaping impactful learning experiences.

As Head of Learning and Development in the charity sector, Julie honed her skills in coaching and mediation. Over the past decade, she has implemented and managed an internal workplace mediation scheme, facilitating both individual and team mediations. She finds the mediation process deeply rewarding and empowering, valuing the “light bulb” moments that foster understanding and resolution.

A qualified coach, Julie works with colleagues at all levels, coordinates coaching referrals, and delivers coaching for managers. She seamlessly integrates mediation, coaching, and learning tools into her approach, adapting dynamically to the needs of individuals and groups.

In addition to her work in social care, Julie trained as a Sign Language Interpreter and worked as a freelance interpreter within the Deaf community. She is a strong advocate for communication access and takes pride in being part of collaborative solutions.

Outside of work, Julie cherishes time with family and friends. She is the Chair of a local drama group and enjoys performing on stage. She also loves the outdoors and can often be found braving a cold sea or lake — just for fun!
